Project Description:

We create and empower energy smart communities in leased buildings – residential and commercial. We make it fun, easy and profitable for people – current tenants, building engineers and landlords – to sell their energy and related data. We crowd source this data from leased buildings, but we do not ask anyone to donate their data. Instead, we pay them for their energy data and apply gamification to data collection. Then we add value by aggregating and analyzing data, generating insights. Finally, we make it fun, easy and profitable for leasing agents or landlords to give prospective lessors insights about future energy & water costs, and opportunities to save. The result: smarter investments in smart building technologies that save energy. We are a self-sustaining business with three revenue streams: data brokerage, analytical report composition, and advertising.

Link to the Sustainable Chicago 2015 Action Agenda:

Energy smart communities are essential to all seven of the Action Plan’s sustainability categories. We harness market forces to highlight incentives that nudge building owners to invest is energy technologies to gain a competitive edge in the leasing market. Our app helps make Chicago into a global leader in energy smart communities, innovation and energy efficient buildings.
